Hi, I’m Kayla Penfold (she/her), a Graphic Designer based in Portland, Oregon. I’ve known since I was a kid that I wanted to do something creative — and that passion has only grown stronger over time. I’m especially interested in brand identity and love exploring new approaches that push ideas further and make them work across platforms.
I enjoy working with a variety of mediums — from digital design to acrylic painting — and I’m often inspired by other creative disciplines, especially interior design. It shapes the way I think about space, form, and how people visually experience the world, which naturally informs how I approach my design work. I thrive when I’m experimenting, problem-solving, and finding effective solutions. I also bring hands-on knowledge of print production, which helps ensure each project is both polished and practical.
I enjoy working one-on-one with clients to bring their ideas to life, building strong partnerships rooted in trust and communication. I pay close attention to how a design resonates with its audience — how it looks, feels, and works for the people interacting with it.
I bring curiosity, dedication, and a collaborative spirit to everything I work on. Whether I’m working independently or as part of a team, I’m all in — always aiming to create thoughtful, intentional work. I’m constantly seeking personal and professional growth, staying open to new tools, techniques, and perspectives along the way.
Above all, I value honesty, kindness, authenticity, and clear communication. I believe great design is built not only through collaboration, but also through empathy — with both the client and the end viewer — and that’s what I strive to bring to every project.
